The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office successfully conducted the 2025 SIKAP Scholars’ Assembly and Orientation on July 01, 2026, at Watergate Hotel, Butuan City.
It brought together a total of 21 approved and ongoing scholars under the Scholarships for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP), and the Scholarship Management Officers (SMOs) of the four (4) recognized Delivering Higher Education Institutions (DHEIs): 1) Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU); 2) Caraga State University (CSU); 3) Philippine Normal University – Mindanao; and 4) Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU).
The activity served as an avenue to provide a comprehensive orientation on the scholarship’s policies, guidelines, along with the roles and responsibilities of both the scholars, DHEIs, and Sending HEIs.
This year’s assembly of scholars was graced by the presence of CHED Caraga Regional Director, Dr. Nelia A. Alibin, who encouraged the scholars to maximize the opportunity entrusted to them and become catalysts for academic excellence and institutional development in the region. It was further supported by the presence of Dr. Julia Felisa C. Martinez, Chief Education Program Specialist, who emphasized the scholars’ contributions towards achieving excellence in the region’s higher education.
Dr. Rolyna S. Trugillo, Supervising Education Program Specialist and SIKAP Permanent Alternate Focal Person (PAFP), led the discussion of the salient provisions of the CY 2025 SIKAP Guidelines, as well as the presentation of the Commission’s 7-Point ACHIEVE Agenda and CHED’s priority programs for graduate scholarships.
