The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office conducted a consultative meeting with officials and personnel of the Caraga State University (CSU) School of Medicine on June 23, 2026, in Butuan City to discuss the implementation of CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 10, series of 2026, entitled “Guidelines for the Medical Scholarship and Return Service (MSRS) Program.”
Representing the CSU School of Medicine were Dean Dr. Teresita Samaniego Cadiz-Brion, Assistant Dean Dr. Caridad Burdeos Plete, Scholarship Focal Person Dr. Nueva Joy Allego Perucho, and SoM Staff Jean Vivien Navarra Umpad, RN. Present from CHED Caraga were Mr. Ever Joy G. Rabadan, MAEM, MSc., Education Supervisor II, Ms. Hashana Rosh D. Ibayan, Project Technical Staff I, and Ms. Caliel Bless M. Domingo, Project Support Staff V.
The meeting served as a venue to clarify provisions of the newly issued guidelines, discuss implementation concerns, and strengthen coordination between CHED Caraga and CSU School of Medicine in ensuring the effective administration of the MSRS Program.
The activity underscored the shared commitment of CHED Caraga and CSU School of Medicine to support medical scholars and advance the program’s goal of producing competent physicians who will serve underserved and disadvantaged communities across the country.
