The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) conducted a validation and evaluation visit to Caraga State University (CSU) from June 15 to 17, 2026, in connection with the university’s application for the designation of Center of Excellence (COE) in its Bachelor of Science (BS) in Agriculture major in Crop Protection program.
CSU is among the shortlisted higher education institutions (HEIs) with ongoing applications for COE status in the said program. The evaluation forms part of CHED’s quality assurance mechanisms to recognize institutions that demonstrate excellence in instruction, research, extension, and innovation.
The validation and evaluation team was composed of Dr. Rosana Mula and Dr. Josephine Migalbin, together with representatives from the Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD), Ms. Maria Katrina Cosico and Ms. Sheryl Tarrayo, and Mr. Ever Joy G. Rabadan, MAEM, MSc., Education Supervisor for Agriculture and Related Sciences of CHED Caraga.
During the three-day visit, the team assessed CSU’s compliance with the standards and criteria for COE designation, covering key areas such as instruction, research, extension, faculty qualifications, student support services, facilities, and institutional outcomes.
CHED Caraga continues to work hand in hand with HEIs in the region, promoting quality and excellence in higher education by recognizing institutions that consistently demonstrate outstanding performance and contribute to regional and national development.
