The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office proudly joined the national celebration of CHED’s 32nd anniversary, through a series of organized activities, all geared towards strengthening the Commission’s efficient, effective, and excellent public service.
On June 08, 2026, CHEDRO’s administrative personnel successfully completed the capacity building program, “Lifelong Education for Administrative Personnel (LEAP),” held at the CHED Auditorium, Diliman, Quezon City. LEAP focused on streamlining the strategic performance management system, ensuring its alignment to the 7-Point ACHIEVE Agenda.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nelia A. Alibin, CHED Caraga Regional Director, together with the technical team, actively participated in the Technical Unit Guidance and Operational Networking (TUGON) 2026, a national conference of CHED officials and technical personnel to harmonize strategies, and establish more agile coordination mechanisms across the regions. TUGON was held on June 09, 2026 at UP Hostel, Diliman, Quezon City.
Simultaneously, CHEDRO Caraga joined the nationwide assembly of focal persons for the strengthened implementation of various scholarship programs, the Scholarships for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) and the Medical Scholarship and Return Service Program (MSRS).
This year’s anniversary was concluded with the historic Strategic Partnership Convergence held on June 10, 2026 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City. The event was highlighted with the State of the Higher Education Address by the Commission’s visionary Chairperson, Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis. Further, the anniversary culmination was graced by the honorable Senator Loren Legarda who expressed full support to CHED’s pursuit for excellence in the Philippine higher education. It gathered officials across different national government agencies, higher education institutions (HEIs), international partners, and regional offices who witnessed the unveiling of major reforms, and forging partnerships to strengthen student welfare, develop organizational capacities, and enhance global competitiveness of Philippine higher education.
As CHED marks its 32nd year of service, CHED Caraga vowed to continue its unwavering commitment to advancing quality, accessible and relevant higher education in the region. Guided by the Commission’s vision and values, CHED Caraga remains steadfast in empowering HEIs and encouraging opportunities for learners, educators, and communities towards the achievement of a better Bagong Pilipinas.
