The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office participated in the 2026 Caraga Coconut Festival: Balangay Edition held from May 18–24, 2026 at Robinsons Place, Butuan City. Carrying the theme, “Niyog 360: One Coconut, Endless Opportunities,” the festival highlighted the importance of the coconut industry in promoting innovation, livelihood opportunities, and sustainable development in the Caraga Region.

As one of the implementing agencies of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), CHED Caraga joined fellow government agencies, stakeholders, and partners in showcasing programs and initiatives that support coconut farmers and their families. The event also served as a venue for inter-agency collaboration and public engagement through various exhibits, learning sessions, and entrepreneurial showcases.

As part of the culminating activities on May 24, 2026, CHED Caraga conducted an orientation for existing and incoming beneficiaries of the Coconut Scholarship Program (CoScho) for Academic Year 2026–2027. The orientation was facilitated by Mr. Ever Joy G. Rabadan, MAEM, MSc., Education Supervisor and Scholarship/UniFAST In-Charge, together with Ms. Hashana Rosh Ibayan, Project Technical Staff for CoScho. Discussions focused on scholarship responsibilities, eligibility requirements, and documentary compliance for aspiring scholars.

The activity concluded with the formal closing ceremony led by participating agencies and partners, highlighting the collective efforts in promoting the coconut industry and expanding opportunities for coconut farmers and their families. CHED Caraga remains committed to supporting scholarship programs and inter-agency initiatives that contribute to accessible higher education and regional development.
