The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office conducted a Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) Evaluation and Validation Visit for the proposed Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Soil Science program of Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU) on May 14, 2026 in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur. The activity forms part of the CHED Preliminary Assessment process to evaluate the university’s compliance with the policies, standards, and guidelines for the offering of the proposed program.

The evaluation team was composed of Mr. Ever Joy G. Rabadan, Education Supervisor for Agriculture and Related Sciences and RQAT Member, together with Dr. Elizabeth P. Parac. During the visit, the team conducted a review and validation of relevant documents, instructional facilities, laboratories, academic resources, and support services related to the proposed program.

The CHED evaluators were welcomed by ADSSU officials headed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Carmelo S. Llanto, College of Agriculture Dean, Dr. Sarah M. Ravelo, together with faculty members and other university personnel. Discussions during the activity highlighted the university’s initiatives in strengthening instruction, research, extension services, and laboratory capabilities aligned with CHED standards.

Through evaluation and validation activities, CHED Caraga continues to uphold quality assurance mechanisms and support higher education institutions in strengthening academic programs responsive to regional and national development goals.
