The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office expressed its support for the official roll-out of the Programa para sa Buti ng Bayan at Mamamayan: Galing, Akses, Batid at Angat tungo sa Yaman ng Bayan (PBBM-GABAY ng Bayan Programs) Mindanao Cluster Caravan held on May 13, 2026 at the Lagao Gym in General Santos City.

The initiative aims to strengthen public awareness of government education and social protection programs, improve access to financial assistance, and guide students toward sustainable academic and career pathways. It particularly seeks to provide opportunities and vital information to 4Ps beneficiaries and their families to help them pursue lifelong learning and improve their quality of life.

The activity highlighted key CHED-UniFAST initiatives, including Free Higher Education, the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), and Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) support. These mechanisms are geared toward promoting inclusive, equitable, and accessible education for Filipino learners.

CHED Caraga Regional Director Dr. Nelia A. Alibin joined the activity alongside other CHED officials and partner agencies in support of the government’s efforts to implement the PBBM-GABAY ng Bayan Programs. The Mindanao Cluster Caravan also served as a platform for inter-agency collaboration, ensuring the effective dissemination of information and expanding access to government education assistance across the region.

Through initiatives such as the PBBM-GABAY ng Bayan Programs, CHED Caraga continues to uphold its mandate of advancing accessible, inclusive, and transformative higher education for all.
