The Commission on Higher Education Caraga Regional Office formally opened the celebration of the 32nd CHED Founding Anniversary and the 6th National Higher Education Day on May 5, 2026, at the Higher Education Development Center (HEDC) Building, Caraga State University campus, Ampayon, Butuan City.

Anchored on CHED’s strategic pillars and its continuing commitment to excellence in higher education, the regional office commenced the month-long observance with a meaningful spiritual enhancement session for its personnel entitled, “Called to Serve: Embracing Spirituality, Accountability, and Ethical Responsibility in Government Service.” The session, delivered by Rev. Fr. Anthony Booc, emphasized the importance of integrity, purpose-driven leadership, and ethical public service in fostering a responsive and people-centered educational sector.

Following the session was a Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Booc, offering prayers of gratitude and guidance as CHED Caraga continues its mission of advancing accessible, quality, and transformative higher education across the region.

The opening activities mark the beginning of a series of events lined up throughout the month in celebration of CHED’s enduring legacy and its contributions to the development of Philippine higher education.
