The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office, together with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), cond ucted the Technical Budget Hearing (TBH) Consultation Meeting FY 2027 Budget Proposals of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Caraga on April 16, 2026 at North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) – Cantilan Campus, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.
DBM Acting Assistant Secretary Gerald R. Janda served as discussant and provided technical inputs on the budget proposals of the four (4) SUCs: 1) Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU); 2) Caraga State University (CarSU); 3) North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU); and 4) Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU).
Meanwhile, CHED Caraga Regional Director Dr. Nelia A. Alibin expressed the Commission’s full support and commitment to ensuring that SUC budget proposals are aligned with national priorities, compliant with standards, and responsive to regional development needs.
DBM Regional Director Maria Fe Jagna, CESO III, also emphasized the importance of aligning SUC budget proposals with institutional mandates, vision, mission, and development goals to ensure efficient and strategic use of government resources.
The activity reflected a strengthened collaboration among CHED, DBM, and SUCs in pushing for strategic, transparent, and development-oriented budget planning for higher education institutions.
