The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga, in collaboration with the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT), conducted a Preliminary Assessment, Evaluation, and Inspection Visit for the Bachelor of Science in Food Technology program of Caraga State University on March 30, 2026, held at the HERO Learning Commons Activity Center.
The activity, conducted as part of the CHED Preliminary Assessment (CPA) pursuant to CMO No. 9, s. 2023, aimed to ascertain the institutionβs readiness to offer the BS Food Technology program and to evaluate its compliance with CHED policies, standards and guidelines. It included validation of submitted documents, inspection of facilities, and evaluation of faculty qualifications, curriculum design, and learning resources.
Serving as technical evaluators were Dr. Jonathan H. Perez, RQAT Member, and Mr. Ever Joy G. Rabadan, MAEM, MSc, CHED Caraga Education Supervisor for Agriculture and Related Sciences, who ensured that the program aligns with national quality standards in higher education.
The preliminary assessment forms part of CHEDβs quality assurance mechanism to support higher education institutions (HEIs) in delivering relevant, industry-responsive, and globally competitive academic programs. The results of the evaluation will guide the universityβs Board of Regents in offering the proposed program.
