The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office extended full support to the Local Government Unit (LGU) and Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) as it moves toward the establishment of the SNSU – Alegria Campus. In a consultative meeting held on March 17, 2026 at the municipal office of Alegria, CHED Caraga team headed Regional Director Nelia A. Alibin, together with SNSU officials, discussed pertinent requirements of the Commission that shall be complied by both the LGU and the university for this undertaking.
The consultative dialogue highlighted the shared commitment of stakeholders to expand educational opportunities in the municipality. It further allowed strengthened partnerships between the academe and local government to improve access to quality higher education, explore program offerings responsive to local needs, and support community development initiatives.
