The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office, under the leadership of Regional Director Nelia A. Alibin, conducted the Project PEPA (Patuloy na Edukasyon, Patuloy na Pag-Ahon) Caravan at Agusan National High School on March 16, 2026. Implemented through the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST), the activity gathered graduating 4Ps students, along with parents, educators, partner Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and government agencies to provide information on educational opportunities and support programs available for learners in the region.
The caravan, conducted in partnership with the regional offices of DepEd, TESDA, and DSWD, highlighted ongoing collaboration in guiding learners toward education and training opportunities. Partner agencies reaffirmed their support, with Regional Director Florencio F. Sunico, Jr. of TESDA Caraga delivering his message backing efforts to improve access to education and skills development, while representatives from DepEd and DSWD conveyed their agencies’ commitment to the initiative.
The caravan also featured information sessions aimed at guiding students on available education and training programs. Mr. Ever Joy G. Rabadan, Education Supervisor II/CHED Scholarship–UniFAST Unit In-Charge, presented the CHED Scholarship Programs, while Ms. Heidi M. Paradero, Project Technical Staff III/UniFAST Lead Regional Coordinator, discussed student financial assistance programs under UniFAST. Meanwhile, Ms. Maria Cristina V. Soberano, Senior TESDA Specialist, presented technical-vocational education opportunities and pathways available for senior high school graduates.
Interactive booth exhibitions were also set up by TESDA, DOLE, partner HEIs, and other stakeholders, providing participants with consultations and assistance on scholarship applications, skills training registration, and career planning.
Through Project PEPA, CHED Caraga and its partner agencies continue to strengthen collaboration and support for learners. The Agusan del Norte caravan marks the first of many, with similar events planned across all provinces to expand students’ access to education and training opportunities.
